Trust Your Pace

Thinking about my path as a creative, I came to realize the more I tried to overthink and optimize a creative process that once worked perfectly and automatically, the more I allowed external validation and other people's opinions about my work to interfere with what I did, the more complicated it got. And the less productive I was.

Of course we all experience these days when we know deep down in our bones, that we should get started with this and should finish that. But it’s not the same as letting fear and doubt sneak in.

Now, before deciding to listen to a lot of creatives, talking about procrastination, I ask myself - „What do I need?“ Will accepting this advice make me feel better? Improve my process or bring me joyful insights and new hope? If not, think twice! We as creatives are in danger of questioning ourselves way too often. So I decided to tell myself: “don’t let fear & doubt sneak in! Protect your process !”
